Why did you first contact Well Styled?
I didn’t — my sweet husband did!  I’d just spent two months puttering around in baggy sweats after an extended illness and surgery, and he thought a style consult would be a great pick-me-up as I re-entered my world.  He had also spent years watching me panic before my closet thinking I never had the right thing to wear. His business partner had worked with Well Styled and loved it. He told me, “I bought you a gift and you’re going to think it’s totally indulgent, but you’re going to smile and say ‘thank you’ anyway.” I’ve thanked him repeatedly!

What changes have you noticed in your style since your Well Styled consultation?
I’m more daring. I’ve always worn very basic clothing in simple lines and colors. That still forms the base of my wardrobe, but I’m not scared of a shiny blouse or a patent belt (the consult would have been worth it just for the introduction of belts into my life!) or a cute heel.  My professional clothes now reflect my personality much more. I can make presentations or meet with project partners and feel both creative and polished rather than like I’m a poet masquerading as a banker.

What specific feature did you like best about the Sort, Shop & Style service?
I’ve never liked to shop, and the experience has always been filled with anxiety.  Having Michelle pick out things for me to wear and show me how to wear them was revelatory. When my anxiety came back, Michelle just went with it.  Don’t like that blouse? Move on! Think those pants are too tight? Try these!  Though she takes her job seriously, she also makes it fun.

How have you benefited from our service?
I am so much more confident in what I wear and how I look, and that’s been huge for me, especially in my work life. I’m also far more interested in style than ever before because good style seems accessible and even valuable to me. I read style blogs and play with accessories. I’m enjoying my wardrobe.

Also, at Michelle’s suggestion I rearranged my closet.  It’s a work of art.

Why did you first contact Well Styled?
It’s so cliché, but I had become one of those moms who wears yoga pants and t-shirts everyday. It happened partly because I had gained some weight and could no longer fit into my old clothes, and partly because I didn’t want to get spit-up, finger paint, food and sticky kid stuff on my clothes. To be completely honest, I think I also didn’t feel that great about the way I looked.
After picking up running as a new hobby and losing my baby weight, I contacted Michelle so that I could get a fresh start and get my personality back into my wardrobe.

What have you gained from working with Well Styled?
Aside from my session with Michelle being fun and full of laughs, I ended up gaining a huge amount of confidence about the way I look. She pre-selected clothes for me that simply look great on me. I learned basic rules for my body shape that I could apply to getting a good fit in pants — previously my biggest problem. After some simple advice to have a seamstress take in the waist of my pants, I had a closet full of pants and shorts that looked smashing!

The actual shopping process was easy peasy. As I tried on items that Michelle had selected, she mixed and matched, and pulled alternate sizes/colors for me if I needed them. We worked on a practical approach to putting together comfortable outfits that make me look professional for work, presentable doing errands around town, and hot on date nights with the hubs. I feel like my wardrobe is now the perfect blend of on-trend and realistic for my age and stage in life, and I no longer stare blankly at my closet and wonder what to wear.

What stood out to you about your first Well Styled session?
During my first session of going through my closet, I was surprised to realize how old some of my clothes were and how badly some of them fit. It’s like I just didn’t see it until Michelle pointed it out. It was cathartic to get rid of them.

The more pleasant surprise was how many great little things I had in my closet that I wasn’t wearing. I didn’t realize that were creative combinations of pieces just waiting to be worn. Michelle has an eye for such unexpected combinations.

Why did you first contact Well Styled?
As I began the process of simplifying my life and decluttering my home, I realized I needed to get rid of 75% of the clothes in my closet. However, I really wanted a second opinion before I began tossing and donating.  Being a super-busy “mom-preneur” who doesn’t love to shop, I realized that outsourcing this time-consuming task (while also getting personal styling tips and the latest and greatest fashion trends) was the way to go.

What have you gained from working with Well Styled?
I gained time, up-to-date fashion advice and helpful tips for the best ways to flatter my figure. I love getting dressed and I feel great when I know I’m using everything in my closet. Most importantly, I don’t have to waste time or money shopping for clothes I might not love. With Michelle’s professional services, I know I’ve found the quickest way to get the job done all while enjoying the process.

What stood out to you about your first Well Styled session?
Not only is Michelle a fashionista and professional, through and through, she’s also loads of fun. Somehow, she made cleaning out my closet enjoyable. I loved working quickly and efficiently in getting my closet cleaned out and ready for the fabulous new items we bought during my shopping session.  Perhaps I’m most grateful for the fact that I finally found the person who could give me honest answers to questions like “Do these jeans make my but look big?” and “Is this dress really flattering?” :-)
