On a recent spring consultation, an on-going client was showing me some of the purchases she had made on her own since our last fall consultation. As I applauded her on doing a phenomenal job for choosing the perfect dress shape for her body frame, I also fell in love with her choices. I had to ask: “Where did you find these amazing dresses?!” Her response: “‘At a head shop called Oat Willies”
WHAT?! A head shop? I was defenitley intrigued, as most of my amazing golden-finds are at the most unusual places (currently, my go-to for watches are skate shops).
After our consultation, I headed…no, more like raced, to the Oat Willies. I entered the store, bypassed the incense and drum circle shelves and headed to the back of the store. Like angels singing “HALLELUJAH!” I saw it: the Oat Willies sale rack.
SIDE NOTE: When you see as many clothes as I do on a daily basis, I know a good sale rack from 30 feet away.
I was not mistaken. Item after item, I was enamored by the beauty and electrified by the original price followed by a big red stamp on top that read “50% OFF”. The style of clothing at Oat Willies is parallel to that of Anthropologie. In fact, 90% of the brands they carry are from the same family brands you will find at Anthropologie (ad hoc, Funky People, Voile, aryn K.).
I would highly recommend Oat Willies as your go-to for dresses and tops that you can wear with skirts, shorts, or denim. During my visit I didn’t see pants, skirts, or shoes. However, you’ll be so happy with the rest of the selection you won’t think twice about those other items.
Here’s my clothing re-cap at Oat Willies: Found 15 high-potential pieces to the dressing room, 13(!) of them fit like a glove, after considering what I have at home and what would enhance my wardrobe, I came home with five tops and one dress. Each item averaged $18!!
Oat Willies (Central): 617 West 29th Street, Austin and Oat Willies (South): 1931 East Oltorf Street, Austin, TX

Awesome tip – I’ll be heading to Oat Willie’s soon!
