Renee Roberson from iParenting.com has written a great article titled: Starting to Show-What to Wear in That “In-between” Stage of Pregnancy. In the article you will find great tips for transitioning from a size 4 to a 10 with ease and joy! Here is what I recommended to Renee as maternity wardrobe staples:
-
Maternity or nursing bras to accommodate your growing bust.
-
Black yoga pants in a boot cut (boot-cut style balances out the growing upper body).
-
Dark-wash denim pants in a boot cut.
-
Black straight skirt in stretch jersey.
-
Black dress with a v-neck in stretch jersey (the neck line keeps the eye up).
-
Print kimono dress in stretch jersey (perfect with sandals or a short pump).
-
Extra-long white camisole tops.
-
Jewel-tone top.
-
Blazer or light-weight cardigan. (Either one is perfect for wearing over everything and creating a more “slenderizing” upper body frame.)
-
A flat shoe in muted metallic made of supple leather, which will stretch for women’s swollen feet, or a retro sneaker.
-
Accessories, such as colorful earrings and bracelets and scarves or shawls, to dress up basic pieces.
